Our kingpins (R6018) are made in Spain by a manufacturer which used to supply Citroen, beware there are other pins on the market which really are not up to the job.
Contains, pin, top bush, lower bush, cup washer, 2 x spacer washer, thrust washer, lower threaded plug and top welch plug.
Kingpins are the same as they where on 1948 2cv, so they are a slightly primitive device, however, if frequently greased they are safe and reliable.
We are frequently asked whether a car will pass an MOT test on worn kingpins or other items - your MOT tester can tell you that! We just need to sell you lots of parts! However:-
TOP KINGPIN TIPS:
1] Use grease with molybdenum disulphide.
2] Always raise wheel before greasing.
3] Grease pins every 600 miles (1000kms).
4] Grease pins immediately before MOT test!
5] Don't replace both if only one is worn!
Kingpins can often be loose in the suspension arm eye even after fitting new, this can be a result of using excessive heat to help in removal (dont use heat!) or simply wear through having had several sets of pins in years past.
The solution is to fit a new suspension arm.
