Front and rear shocks for AKS400 are always the same length as each other, many years ago there were different rated shocks manufactured for front vs. rear, that is no longer the case.

From July 1976 the 12mm shock mounting studs front and rear were replaced with 14mm along with non-floating (no rubber mounts front and rear) suspension units taken (as near as dammit) from the Ami Super and followed on into the Acadiane (post July 1976 AKS 400 uses the same shock front AND rear as the Acadiane uses for the front only).
